Becoming a committee member
Each of the 69 precincts in Indiana County can have up to two (2) Committee Members. The positions are four year terms coinciding with the election of the governor. Vacant positions are filled by appointment. If you are interested in serving a position open in your precinct, please contact the Indiana County Republican Committee.
OVERVIEW
The position of an Indiana County Republican Committee Member is extremely important. Members not only represent the Republican voters in their individual precincts, but Republicans across the entire county. To many voters, a Republican Committee Member is the Republican Party; as they are the most accessible GOP contact and often the only link between the Republican Party and the people.
There can be up to two (2) Committee Members representing each of the 69 precincts in Indiana County. The term of office for an elected Committee Member is four years following the primary election that coincides with the election of the governor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Is a registered Republican voter in Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
Is a resident of the election district (precinct) from which they are elected or appointed.
ACTIVE ROLES AND DUTIES
Attend Indiana County Republican Committee meetings regularly.
Assist with fundraising and activism events for the Indiana County Republican Committee.
Circulate and sign Republican candidate nominating petitions.
Register new Republican voters.
Canvas with candidates and their campaign teams (door knocking, phone banking, etc...).
Be present at polling places on election days to greet voters, pass out literature, and place signage.
Recruit and train volunteers for Republican campaigns and activities.
