COUNTY AUDITOR VACANCY

The Indiana County Republican Committee is seeking to fill the post of County Auditor. With the appointment of Bonni Dunlap to County Commissioner, a vacancy was created in the office of County Auditor. 

County Auditors receive a per diem daily pay of $167 based on a 6 hour day and 180 days of work per calendar year. Auditors serve as an independent source of verification for the taxpayers that all monies due the county are accounted for and transactions properly recorded. Auditors audit, settle and adjust the accounts of all county officers and county row offices. Auditors perform a post audit function, not an accounting function.

Per County Code, the Indiana County Republican Committee will recommend to the court of common pleas of the county, sitting en banc, who will appoint a successor for the unexpired term (approximately the end of 2027) and shall be a registered elector of the county and shall be a member of the same political party as was the auditor whose place is to be filled.
